Fergusons approached us with a goal of supporting the recruitment of a newly created role within their Removals and Self Store team: Move and Storage Advisor. Having already successfully partnered with Ad Gefrin, Ferguson’s hiring manager reached out looking for a recruitment partner who could take ownership of the process and help shape the role from the ground up. 

Rather than simply filling a vacancy, Fergusons wanted to ensure the role was clearly defined, well positioned in the market, and aligned to the needs of both the business and the candidate.

What we did

We began with an in-depth meeting to understand the team, the responsibilities of the role, and what success would look like. From there, we worked collaboratively to create a new job title, job description, and job advert that accurately reflected the opportunity and would attract the right people. 

Talentheads led a proactive search of x68 sourced candidates, promoting the role across relevant platforms and conducting targeted sourcing activity. We also advertised the role via our ATS system and received x23 applications creating a talent map to give Fergusons visibility to the market and potential candidate options. 

Throughout the process, we kept the client fully informed with regular catch ups and clear weekly activity reports, ensuring transparency and momentum at every stage. 

We carried out detailed candidate screening calls to ensure each individual had a full understanding of the role and to assess their skills, experience, and motivations. Shortlisted candidates were presented with clear screening notes, followed by the coordination of first stage interviews and final stage, face to face interviews onsite. 

We managed the offer process through to the acceptance stage and ensured all candidates received timely updates and constructive feedback, maintaining a positive experience for everyone involved.

BUSINESS IMPACT

The process resulted in a successful hire who accepted the offer and joined the business with a clear understanding of the role and expectations. By moving quickly and communicating clearly during the final stages, we supported Fergusons in securing the right candidate without compromising quality or experience. 

The feedback received highlighted the value of having a trusted recruitment partner who could manage the process end to end and deliver with confidence. Fergusons have since confirmed they would not hesitate to work with Talentheads again for future recruitment needs.
