Geos Group returned to Talentheads to support them in recruiting a Terminal Operator at their Blyth site. Having worked together successfully in the past, they knew they could rely on our recruitment model to deliver results while providing a seamless, people-first experience.

What we did

We began with an in-depth meeting with Geos Group’s Terminal Manager and Operations Manager to fully understand the role, the team, and the skills required for success. Using these insights, we developed a job advert and role profile that accurately reflected the opportunity and would attract the right candidates. 

The role was promoted through our applicant tracking system, social platforms and local community groups. We monitored applications closely, receiving 160 applications, and conducted proactive sourcing to identify an additional 58 suitable candidates, creating a strong talent pool from the outset. 

Throughout the process, we provided regular updates and clear reporting, giving Geos full visibility of activity and progress while building a Talent Map for the role. We screened all candidates to assess skills, experience and motivations, presenting a shortlist to the hiring managers for review. Shortlisted candidates were then invited onsite for interviews. 

Our recruitment model ensured that even when unforeseen changes occurred with, the preferred candidate deciding to stay in their current role, we were able to quickly pivot and place a highly suitable candidate without delay. The successful hire joined the team with a clear understanding of the role and has already made a positive impact. All other candidates were kept informed with timely feedback, maintaining a strong employer brand and candidate experience throughout.
