Our partnership with Shield Therapeutics, a people-focused pharmaceutical company, continued during their need to appoint a Finance Manager to support Shield’s Finance and Accounting teams, at their Gateshead based headquarters.
Shield Therapeutics needed to appoint an experienced Finance Manager who could bring strong technical accounting expertise. The role required a highly qualified ACA or ACCA finance professional with a comprehensive understanding of International Finance Reporting (IFRS) and the ability to interpret and apply complex accounting guidance.
With this specific role being recruited over the Christmas period, speed and responsiveness were particularly important.
Talentheads’ dedicated team members worked closely with Shield’s Group Financial Controller, becoming fully integrated within the team. This enabled Talentheads to develop a clear understanding of both the technical requirements of the role and Shield’s culture and working environment.

The successful appointment gave Shield Therapeutics the specialist finance expertise needed to strengthen its Finance and Accounting function and support its continued growth.
Bringing the right person into the position meant Shield could confidently strengthen this capability while continuing to operate in a fast paced and evolving environment.
The impact of the hire also demonstrated the value of understanding the organisation behind the job description.
